LX

Light has many forms from natural to electric and pure white to prismatic. Some devote a lifetime to measuring that light - its intensity, luminosity and diffusion. For the artist, LX is the exploration of light as it connects with a given surface. This series considers what is perceived on a textural level when light comes in contact with material.

Primarily works on paper, LX uses a variety of media that is layered with hard lines and soft spaces. Materials include graphite, gouache and pastel for their blending and subtle intensities. ​The series was begun and completed during a time of intense focus in the summer of 2018.
